1- What is Cerama-Tech?
Cerama-Tech is a fluid applied Copolymer, Elastomeric Ceramic Coating
(paint), that Insulates, is a certified Fire Retardant (ASTM Class
A Type 1), suppresses Sound, Encapsulates Lead and Asbestos, and looks
and applies like regular paint.

3- Is the use of ceramics as insulation
a new concept?
The use of ceramics as an insulator goes back as far as man. The employment
of ceramic bottles to keep water cool has been traced back to the
beginning of civilization. The use of ceramic roofs to waterproof
and insulate can be traced back almost as far. The use of ceramic
roofs spread throughout the world. There are many ceramic roofs that
are hundreds of years old and are still as effective as the day they
were built. Hence, the use of ceramics as insulation is not a new
concept.

Anything that can be painted can be insulated with Cerama-Tech.

5- How does Cerama-Tech
work?
The use of Space Age Technology utilizes age-old ceramics in a liquid
form. Cerama-Tech utilizes microscopic, Ceramic Platelets, which are
suspended in the formula. During the drying process, the platelets
act like little pac men and form a solid shield within the dried membrane.
This ceramic shield has the ability to reflect the long and short
wave radiation of the sun, back to its source rather than letting
it enter the interior airspace of the building.

long will this coating last?
Cerama-Tech paint will last virtually as long as the substance to
which it is applied.

warranty?
Cerama-Tech International offers a 15 year limited warranty against
chipping, flaking and peeling.

8- What are some
of the available applications for Cerama-Tech?
Asphalt shingle roofs, fiberglass shingle roofs, commercial metal
roofs, industrial metal roofs, single ply roots, flat roofs, built
up roofs, mobile home roofs, exterior walls, interior walls, interior
ceilings, mobile home walls, air conditioning ducts, heating ducts,
steam pipes, boat bottoms, etc., etc., etc.

9- Does Cerama-Tech have an
R-Value?
R-Value is a measure of insulation effectiveness (a measurement of
resistance to heat flow by conduction and convection for a given thickness).
Cerama-Tech works like a Radiant Barrier, and is considered a Radiant
Control Coating (RCC) according to ASTM. Because RCC's reflect thermal
energy and their effectiveness is based on reflectivity, there is
no fixed R-Value for the material rather, it varies according to the
temperature difference from the bottom to the top, or from the outside
to the inside.

10- What is an
RCC (Radiant Control Coating)?
A RCC is a material that prevents the transfer of heat by infrared
radiation. The surfaces low Emissivity prevents it from absorbing
or emitting long and short wave radiation. Thus the heat transfer
from the exterior of the building to the interior is reduced.

11- Do RCC's
work during the winter?
Because of the dual function of a low emmisivic surface, the radiant
heat transfer from the attic floor to the cooler roof is retarded.
The heat simply floats away from the floor of the attic.

12- What is the
optimum combination of materials for Energy Savings?
For both winter and summer climates, the house must have a combination
of both conductive, convective and radiant materials to provide the
maximum heat flow reduction.

13- What colors
does Cerama-Tech come in?
Cerama-Tech can be tinted to a rainbow of colors that are tinted from
a white base. Dark colors such as red, black or dark green can not
be accomplished since they are tinted from a clear base. People who
want the insulation capabilities of Cerama-Tech and who also want
a dark color, usually paint the first coat with Cerama-Tech and coat
over it with the dark color of their choice.

14- Is Cerama-Tech
an encapsulation for Lead and Asbestos?
Yes, It meets all the requirements for the rating "Acceptable", from
the Environmental Protection Agency.

Fire Retardant?
Yes. Cerama-Tech is a Certified Fire retardant under ASTM D 3806 (Flame
spread 10, No smoke developed, steady ignition (minutes):Did not occur).
ASTM E 84 (Flame spread 0, No smoke developed, steady
ignition(minutes):
did not occur.

17- How is Cerama-Tech
sold?
It is sold in 5 gallon plastic buckets that weigh approximately 60
lbs.

18- What were
the results of the University of Las Vegas Nevada Testing?
Two identical buildings were built, one painted with regular white
latex paint and the other with Cerama-Tech. The final testing showed
that the building that was painted with Cerama-Tech used 52.20% less
energy than the building that was painted with white latex paint.
The amazing thin in this test is that both buildings had an R-19 value
of 22 Btu/Hr-ft^2-F in the walls and a value of 19 Btu/Hr-ft^2-F in
the attic.

19- What does
Elongation mean?
Elongation mean that the Cerama-Tech has the ability to expand and
contract. ASTM D 2370 results show an elongation at break of 300.

20- How do you
clean Cerama-Tech?
Most dirt, grease, pencil marks, ink stains etc can be cleaned with
a simple soap solution or simple green and a scrub brush.

21- Abuse resistance?
Cerama-Tech cures to a super hard finish, which is impervious to outside
elements and atmospheric conditions.

Mat Linen finish. Not glossy.

Approximately 200 to 250 sq. ft. on a smooth prepared surface. 80
sq. ft. on a rough, porous surface.

2 years, although I am still using product that is over 10 years old.
